Mark Six

Mark Six is a hugely popular lottery game. Although based in Hong Kong, it also attracts many players from across China.

Entry to Mark Six costs HK$ 10 per line. Draws take place on live television three times a week, usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. If there is a horse racing event on Sunday, the Mark Six draw takes place on Saturday instead.

Draws take place at 21:30 local time. Tickets remain on sale up to 15 minutes before the draw, with sales resuming immediately afterwards.

To play Mark Six, choose six numbers between 1 and 49, or go for a Quick Pick for six randomly generated numbers.

Participants can also choose a Multiple, entering 23 numbers played as various combinations.

Mark Six also has a Banker option. This is similar to Multiple, but with players highlighting up to five numbers to enter into every line.

Jackpot

Mark Six offers a minimum jackpot of HK$ 8 million, but with no rollover or jackpot cap, winners often scoop significantly higher amounts.

Mark Six also holds “Snowball Draws” on special occasions throughout the year, which have larger jackpots.

The biggest ever Mark Six jackpots are:

  • HK$ 164.49 million on September 13, 2014.
  • HK$ 133.5 million on May 12, 2011.
  • HK$ 86.8 million on September 28, 2017.

History of Mark Six

The first Mark Six draw took place on September 5, 1975, so that players could enjoy a secure and legitimate lottery game due to the known prevalence of many illegal Chinese lotteries at the time.

The Mark Six lottery is operated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, a non-profit business that also manages betting, horse racing and sports entertainment across the region.
